Learning the correct posture and technique is crucial to getting the most of Nordic Walking. If you're new to Nordic Walking, or just need a refresher, our training is just what you need.
Wondering what we cover? Take a look, then book your training today.
We begin with a gentle 15-minute warm-up, followed by an assessment of your posture, gait, and natural walking technique.
Next, we gradually build up your movement:
We'll fit you with the correct-sized Nordic straps and measure you for the right carbon Nordic poles. Once equipped, you'll take your first steps with the poles using the rubber Paws (feet), learning how to drag and position them at a 45-degree angle.
We then begin our walk to explore varied terrain. Here, we remove the rubber feet so the angled spikes can pierce the ground, helping to propel you forward.
Depending on the venue, we walk along open fields, forests, lakes and more so you can experience as many terrains as possible.
Here, you'll learn:
Next comes hill training: you'll learn how to use your stride and pole positioning to power uphill and guide your descent safely.
We finish by taking in magnificent views before warming down together — breathing in fresh air and leaving you feeling revitalised.
Finally, we head to a cafe or deli for a well-earned coffee, where you can relax, reflect, and chat about your session.
All of our Learn to Nordic Walk sessions take place at one of these three venues.
All of our walks start from one of our venues, so plan ahead and aim to arrive at least 15 minutes early. This allows us to check your PARQ form, adjust the Nordic Walking poles to your size, and make sure you're fully prepared.
No. You do not need a membership to walk with Nordic & Coffee.
Always check the weather forecast for the day of your walk and make sure to dress comfortably. We've prepared these handy kit guides to help you decide what to wear in each season.
If the weather isn't looking great and we need to reschedule your walk, we will let you know the day before.
Yes, we provide poles on the day. If you have your own Nordic Walking poles, let us know and bring them along.
The Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (or PARQ for short) is an important document that lets your instructor know you are ready for Nordic Walking, and can help your instructor adjust the walk accordingly.
No, we only accept card. A card machine will be available on the day.
